none: What is the mean?
To find the mean, add all of the numbers together, then divide the sum by the total number of numbers.
For example, say 7 people each buy 4, 3, 7, 5, 1, 3, and 9 boxes of Thin Mints. What is the mean number of boxes?
First, add the numbers: 4+3+7+5+1+3+9 = 32.
Then, divide the sum by the total number of numbers (in this case 7): 32/7 = 4.5714285714
4.57 is your approximate mean. Although sometimes you will be asked to round to a whole number, if it is about halfway in between integers you should approximate to the nearest tenth at the very least.
Hope this helps!
