Kenny sticks 20 straws together by using adhesive paper (assume that there is no overlaps between two adjacent straws)If the length of each straw is 17 correct to the nearest cm, find the minimum total length of the straws after Kenny sticks all of them together.

It said minimum total length

that is why I used 17.5cm

I thought that was what the question was getting at :)

Well I guess they could all be 16.5cm

16.5*20=330cm

If there is no overlap.....the minimum length also = the max length  = 17 x 20 = 340cm

Chris, they could all be 16.5000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 cm each

They are only 17 to the nearest cm

Yep....and they could all be 17.499999999, too.....I was just using an average....without specific values, we don't really know....

Yeah....after looking at this one again, I have to agree with your answer of 16.5...
