(2x)^2(4y)^2 this is a bit ambiguous but I going to take it to be

(2x)^2 * (4y)^2 =

= 2^2 * x^2 * 4^2 * y^2

= 4 * x^2 * 16 * y^2

= 64 x^2 y^2
