Ms.Greco is building a fence around her rectangular garden. One length of the garden will be bordering a lake and will not need fencing. The length of the garden along the lake is 45 feet. What other information is needed in order to find the width of the garden?

A. Total amount of fencing

B. Width of the house

C. Length of the house

D. Length of the lake

Since the garden is a rectangle, we know one side will measure 45 feet  (the same as the opposite side...which is the lake frontage)....  to know the WIDTH, (of which there will be TWO lengths of fence) we will need to know:

A.  Total amount of fencing

the LENGTH of the lake and the house measurements are irrelevant to the size of the graden.
