The following data set represents the enrollment since the fall of 1980. Let x be the number of years since 1980.

YEAR x              1980  1981  1982  1983  1984  1985  1986  1987  1988  1999

ENROLLMENT y 1414   1454  1439  1555  1617  1727  1717  1804  1833  1881

YEAR x              1990  1991  1992  1993  1994  1995  1996  1997  1998

ENROLLMENT y  1965  2176  2449  2679  2885  2999  3124  3301  3503

Compare the enrollment for each year to the previous year and find the percent increase/decrease in enrollment. Round to the nearest hundredth.

Whoa, dude...are you kidding???....that would take us all night!!!

I'll tell you how to do it.....and then.......good luck...!!!

Percent Increase/ Decrease =

(Subsequent Year - Previous Year) / Previous Year  x 100 %

For instance  from 1980 to 1981 we have

[1454 - 1414]/ 1414  x 100% =

[40 / 1414] x 100% =

about 2.83%    {rounded to the nearest hundredth }

P.S. - If you know how to use a speadsheet program like Excel...it would be a simple matter to calculate these answers......that's probably what I would suggest......!!!....very lengthy, otherwise......
