A rectangular athletic field is twice as long as it is wide. If the perimeter of the field is 192 yards, what are its dimensions? Please tell me how to work this!

Perimeter = 2W + 2L = 2(W + L)

And if the length is twice the width, then 2W = L   ..... then.....

192 = 2(W + 2W)

192 =2(3W)

192 = 6W     divide by 6 on each side

32 yds = W         and twice this is the length = 64 yds
