Solve for x 0.5(5-7x)=8-(4x+6)
expand;
2.5 - 3.5x = 8 - 4x - 6
take x to one side;
2.5 - 8 + 6 = 3.5x - 4x
collect;
0.5 = -0.5x
times 2;
1 = -1x
x = -1
