 The graph of f(x) = sin (x) is transformed to a new function, g(x), by stretching it vertically by a factor of 2 and shifting it 3 units up. What is the equation of the new function g(x)?

g(x) =

expansion factor is 1/2 and shift upward is by -3

g(x)=(1/2)*f(x)-3

g(x)=(1/2) * sin(x)-3

We have the form

g(x)  = Asin (x) + D

A = the vertical stretch = 2

D = the shift up

So...the equation is

g(x) = 2sin (x) + 3
