Let  P  be  the pounds of raspberries  sold

Then P + 13  =  the pounds of bananas sold

So

1.75P  + 3.25 (P + 13) =  227.25    simplify

1.75P  + 3.25 P  +  42.25  =  227.25

5P + 48.75 = 227.25     subtract 42.25 from both sides

5P = 185      divide both sides by  5

P =  37 lbs of raspberries
