sin of an angle   =  length of opposite side / length of hypotenuse

sin 60°   =   y / 8

                             Multiply both sides of the equation by  8 .

8 sin 60°  =  y

y  =  8 sin 60°

                             sin 60°  =  √3 / 2

y  =  8( √3 / 2 )

y  =  4√3
