What do you mean by "IMS". If you any value that you want & plug in place of x, you will see that both sides of the equation are equal.

1/2(6x+4)=x+2(x+1)

3x +2=x +2x +2

3x+2=3x +2,

YOU SEE NOW? THE LEFT HAND SIDE IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE RIGHT HAND SIDE. SO WHATEVER VALUE YOU SUBSTITUTE FOR X, YOU GET A SOLUTION!.

YOU CAN PICK ANY NUMBER YOU WANT. FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU PICK X=100, THEN YOU GET

(100 X 3) + 2=302, WHICH IS THE SAME ON BOTH SIDES. ANY NUMBER YOU PICK WILL BE THE VALUE OF X.

yeah I get it now and IMS means "all real numbers" or in other words both sides are equal: Infinately many solutions/ IMS. Thx I appreciate it. I was solving it wrong.
