Why arent magnets alone strong enogh to create nuclear fusion?

Magnets, no matter how powerful, cannot fuse atoms!!. What they CAN do is to confine the hydrogen atoms, so that they can be zapped by powerful lasers, or squeezed together by enormous pressures by one means or another. In order to get fusion, you must meet two conditions: enormous density AND enormous  pressure, as is the case in the centre of the Sun.
