If you are a merchant selling goods by weight, what is the minimum number of weights, in kg, that you would need to make up every number from 1 kg to 100 kg? [The case of 1 kg weight repeated 100 times is trivial!]. thanks for help.
The weights 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 can be used. This gives an answer of 18 (weights).
