We can simply think of an \(x^1\)function like\(f(x)=x\).

As \(x\) goes to infinity \(f(x)\) goes to infinity, of course.

Same thing: as \(x\) goes to negativev infinity \(f(x)\) goes to negative infinity.

Therefore, the answer choice is the second one.

You are very welcome!
