EP: You forgot something!

 

90 / 40 =2.25 - 1 x 100 =125%. Remember 100% of 40 is 80 and the 25% is that extra 10 + 80 = 90.

Hello Guest,               100%  of  40  is  40   NOT  80

 

This question is simple                100%  :   40 = X%  :  90

                                                    

                                                     X = (100% * 90) / 40  = 225%

 

                                 Therefore:    90  is  225%  of  40  indecision

The question does not ask what percent increase is it from 40 to 90.....

    it asks what percentage is 90 of 40.....

 

100% of 40   is 40

200% of 40 is   80

225% of 40 is   90

 $40  is  50%  of  $80  

 

 $40  is  100%  of  $40     indecision 

 

If I had $40 (100%)  in my pocket and someone gives me another $40, these  $80 are  NEW  100%  laugh
