1/3 multiplied by .512 can only be solved when you make both numbers either a decimal or a fraction. 1/3 as a decimal is 0.333333333333... If you were to instead change .512 into a fraction it would be 512/1000, which can be simplified to 64/125. 1/3•64/125 is 64/375.
