Only thing I really need help on, Slope.

What is the slope of a hill that falls 20 feet for everyhorizontal change of 50 ft?

Umm well it could 2/5 or -2/5 but I don't think you refer to slopes like this as negative.

I am going fot the 2/5 answer.   Sorry Chris

Slope  is defined as....   change in y / change in x  ...so  ....y changes by -20 for every "horizontal" change in "x" of 50...

Therefore

m = -20 / 50  = -2/5    where m is the slope...!!!

Slope is how steep it is. Slope can be find with the formula y two- y one ove x two- x one. The slop is 2/5. Good luck with your slope. I hope you understand how I explained.
