Given  n1 = refractive index of air = 1  (approx)

           angle 1 = 25 degrees 

           angle 2 = 16.7         

 

Required  :  n2   (refractive index of the material in question)

 

Formula :   Snell's Law    n1/n2 = sin2/sin1

 

Solution:   n1/n2  = sin 16.7/sin(25)     n2 = 1.47  = approx refractive index of Glycerin (again)
