A parabola ax^2+bx+c contains the points (-1,0), (0,5), and (-5,0). Find the value 100a+10b+c.
x = -1 and x = -5 are roots so
y = a ( x +1) ( x + 5) and (0,5) is a point on the graph......so.....
5 = a ( 0+ 1) ( 0 + 5)
5 = a (5)
a = 1
So we have
y = ( x + 1) ( x + 5)
y = x^2 + 6x + 5
100(1) + 10(6) + 5 = 165
