y = -2x^2 + 8x + 15 - 3x^2 + 7x - 25

y = -5 x^2 + 15x -10             arrrange to vertex form by completing the square for 'x'

y = - 5 ( x^2- 3x)    -10 

y = -5 (x - 1.5)^2   + 11.25 -10 

y = -5 (x- 1.5)^2 + 1.25                                  shows vertex (h,k) is at   ( 1.5, 1.25 )
