you start by saying what fraction of 40 is 25

and the answer is 25/40

now to change it into a percentage you multiply by 100 and add a % sign

25/40*100%

$${\frac{{\mathtt{25}}}{{\mathtt{40}}}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}{\mathtt{100}}\% = {\frac{{\mathtt{5}}}{{\mathtt{8}}}} = {\mathtt{0.625}}$$

i am confused. I will only write the fraction. Ahh! So every time that I find the percent of something, I always have to use the following method.

$${\frac{{\mathtt{a}}}{{\mathtt{b}}}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}{\mathtt{100}}\%$$

Do I use that method above?

$${\frac{{\mathtt{25}}}{{\mathtt{40}}}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}{\mathtt{100}} = {\frac{{\mathtt{125}}}{{\mathtt{2}}}} = {\mathtt{62.5}}$$     and add the percent sign yourself afterwards.

Ok thank you.

formula for these questions:

$${\frac{{\mathtt{a}}}{{\mathtt{b}}}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}{\mathtt{100}} = {\mathtt{c}}$$%
