the perimeter of a rectangle is 66 meters. the length is 1 more than three times the width what are the dimentions?

P=2[L + W], but we have,

3W + 1=L, we sub

66=2[3W + 1 +W]

66=6W + 2 + 2W

64=8W divide both sides by 8

W=8 meters-the width of the rectangle, then we have,

L=(8 X 3) + 1=25 meters- the length of the rectangle
