e = mc^2  = (.001)(3 x 10^8)^2      1 x10^-3    *  9 x 10^16    =  9 x 10^13 joules

1 gram of matter contains: 299,792,458^2=8.99 x 10^13 Joules=~21,500 Tons of TNT explosives, which is almost exactly the size of the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki in WW2.
