First you will need to find time, 't' to reach the apex (high point) ....this is where the y component of velocity is ZERO.

y component =  18 sin 52 =  14.184 m/s

Now   vf = vo + at     vf = velocity final = 0      vo = velocity original (14.184 m/s from above)

0 = 14.184 + (-9.8)t

    results in t= 1.4473  seconds

THEN    yf = yo + vt + 1/2 at^2

               ? = 1  + 14.184 (1.4473) +(1/2)(-9.8)(1.4473)^2  = Max height= final 'y' = 11.26 m
