How can I divide 10^9.7 to 1000 and have the result as 10^x format?

$$\begin{array}{|rcll|} \hline \dfrac{10^{9.7}}{1000} &=& 10^x \\\\ \dfrac{10^{9.7}}{10^3} &=& 10^x \\\\ 10^{9.7-3} &=& 10^x \\\\ 10^{6.7} &=& 10^x \\\\ \mathbf{ 6.7 } & \mathbf{=} & \mathbf{ x } \\ \hline \end{array}$$
