The question is 54-a*a^2+3*b^3 when a is -2 and b is 4, i got 262 for the answer and so did my son the test says answer is 230. this is how my problem looked 54-4*-4+3*64 then reduced to 54+16+192=262 where did i go wrong?
If everything you wrote out is correct, then you are right. The answer key is wrong. Those things are not always perfect.
54 - (-2)*(-2)^2 + 3*(4^3) = 54 +2*4 + 3*64 = 54 + 8 + 192 = 62 + 192 = 254
