A line passes through the points (-3,-5) and (6,1). The equation of this line can be written in the form Ax+By=C , where A, B,and C are integers with greatest common divisor 1, and A is positive. Find A+B+C.

First find the slope = m  =  (y1-y2)/(x1-x2) = (-5-1) / (-3-6) = 6/9 =  2/3

Now a line equation is   y = mx + b      y = 2/3 x + b

   sub in one of the points to find 'b'

     1 = 2/3 (6) + b

         b = -3

so you lie equation becomes   y = 2/3 x -3       but not in the form requested

    multiply through by 3

           3y = 2x -9      re-arrange

           2x - 3y = 9     You can finish !
