The first is known as the "Intersecting Chords Theorem"

Specifically.....

AP * PC  =  DP * PB   ...so....

12 * 6  =   5 * PB

72  = 5 * PB

72/5  = PB  =  BP

Second one

Arc length  =

(2 pi) * r  *  (45 / 360)  =

(2 pi) * 6  *  1/8  =

12 /8 pi  =

(3/2) pi   inches
