Please help I have been trying to figure out how to do this and I can't...
$10,000.00+$4,000(0.0225)^x
What is x and how to I find it?
As is, there is nothing to solve.....it's like asking what 2^x "equals"....however, if you mean
$10,000.00 = $4,000(0.0225)^x divide both sides by 4000
10000/4000 = .0225^x simplify
2.5 = .0225^x take the log of both sides
log 2.5 = log .0225^x and we can write
log 2.5 = x log .0225 divide both sides by log .0225
log 2.5 / log .0225 = x = -0.2414951977666487
And that's it......!!!
