The full thing:

Simplifying x + -1(x + -4) = 6 Reorder the terms: x + -1(-4 + x) = 6 x + (-4 * -1 + x * -1) = 6 x + (4 + -1x) = 6 Reorder the terms: 4 + x + -1x = 6 Combine like terms: x + -1x = 0 4 + 0 = 6 4 = 6 Solving 4 = 6

x-(x-4)=6 -> No solution. It all comes down to 4=6, which is impossible to fix/solve.
