Circle 1 is centered at (6, 8)(6, 8) and has a radius of 8 units. Circle 2 is centered at (6, −3)(6, −3) and has a radius of 2 units.

What transformations can be applied to Circle 1 to prove that the circles are similar?

-

The circles are similar because you can translate Circle 1 using the transformation rule (__,__) and then dilate it using a scale factor of __.

Transformation  rule :   (x, y - 11)  ⇒  (6, 8 - 11)

Scale factor  =   Radius of  Circle 2 / Radius of Circle 1  =  2/8  =  1/4

Jess...I'm never entirely sure how these are to be written

But......I think the full answer is  :   (x,y) ⇒  (x, y - 11)
