There were some chocolate and strawberry cupcakes in a cake shop. If 10 chocolate cupcakes were sold, 2/7 of the cupcakes left would be chocolate cupcakes. If 18 strawberry cupcakes were sold, 1/3 of the cupcakes left would be chocolate cupcakes. How many chocolate cupcakes and how many strawberry cupcakes were there in the shop?

C==Chocolates,    S==Stawberry

C + S ==T.................................(1)
[C - 10] / [T - 10]==2/7.............(2)
C / [T - 18] ==1/3.....................(3), solve for C, S, T

Use substitution to get:
C==86 - original number of chocolate cupcakes.
S ==190 - original number of strawberry cupcakes.
