If a math class of 24 students has a 3:1 ratio of boys to girls and 2 boys leave, then what would be the ratio of the remaining boys to girls?

Find out how many boys origianlly

3 out of (3+1) = 3/4 boys

3/4 * 34 = 18 boys    6 girls

then change to   16 boys  to 6 girls   =   16:6   =   8:3    new ratio
