Three circles are drawn inside a rectangle as shown. Circle C has a diameter of 3, Circle D has a diameter of 4, and Circle E has a diameter of 6. Circles C and D are tangent, as are circles D and E. The circles are tangent to various sides of the rectangle. Find the length of segment AB.

Diameter of D goes all the way to the horizontal location of C center.

 

Just add the diameters of D and E and radius of C.

 

6+ 4+ 3/2 = 11.5
