a 9-gram sample of a mixture A contains 5 grams of Pepper, 2 grams of Ginger and 2 grams of Turmeric. Another mixture B has 40% ginger, 40% turmeric and 20% pepper. If the two mixtures are mixed, and the final mixture has an equal amount of each of these 3 components, how many grams of B was mixed with 8=9 grams of A?

how i approached this problem:

9g A: p:5g  G:2g  t: 2g

xg B  p:0.20x g:0.4x  t:0.4x

9g+xg= 5+0.20x+2+0.4x+2+0.4x

B mixture has:

5 / 0.2 ==25 g of pepper - so that: 25 g * 0.20 ==5 g of pepper
2/0.4 ==5 g of Ginger     - so that:   5 g * 0.40 ==2 g of Ginger
2 /0.4 ==5 g of Turmeric - so that:   5 g * 0.40 ==2 g of Turmeric

B mixture =25 + 5 + 5 ==35 grams
