how to find the x intercept of 5x-y=-10

The x intercept will occur where y = 0 .......so......let y = 0      and we have  ...

 

5x - 0 =  -10

 

5x   =  -10        divide both sides by 5

 

x = -2      this is the x intercept   [ also denoted as (-2, 0) ]
