If sin(x) = cos(y) = 1/3 and x, y are acute, then find sin(x + y).

= sinx cosy + cosxsiny

     1/3  * 1/3   +   sqrt8/3  * sqrt8/3  =   1/9 + 8/9   = 1

 

 

Guess I could further say that if   sinx = cosy   the angles are compimentary and add to 90o       sin (90) = 1
