Ellie draws △ABC with vertices A(−1, −3) , B(3, 0) , and C(3, −3) . Then she dilates the triangle with a scale factor of 4 to create △A′B′C′ .

How are the areas of the triangles related?

The area of △A′B′C′ is _____ times the area of △ABC

Triangle A'B'C'   will  be (scale factor)^2  times as large as ABC.....iin other words, 4^2  = 16 times the area......
