9.   The area  is   (3x + 2)  (2x)  =   [ 6x^2 + 4x ]  units^2

 

10. 3x³ - 4x² + 2x + 1 - (3x³ + 4x² - 2x + 1)  =

 

3x^3  - 4x^2  + 2x  + 1  - 3x^3 - 4x^2 + 2x  - 1       combine like terms

 

-8x^2 + 4x
