Solve y = -3x^2  - 30x - 76, y = 2x^2 + 20x + 44.

I will suppose you want to find the point(s) of intersection of the two functions listed

   equate them and solve for 'x'

 

-3x^2 - 30x - 76  =  2x^2+20x+44     simplify

5x^2 +50x +120 = 0     divide through by 5   (you could just use Quadratic formula here)

x^2 +10x+ 24 = 0          Now use quadratic formula to find x = -4 and -6

                                         these are the x coordinates of the points of intersection....

                                             now substitute these values of x into either of the equations to find the corresponding y coordinates ...done !   cheeky
