Solve the inequality 5 - 2x > x + 4.

Rearrangement.

 

If we subtract 4 from both sides we get 5-4-2x > x + 4-4 which is 1-2x > x

 

Adding 2x to each side gives 1 > 3x

 

Dividing each side gives 1/3 > x
