If a question ask you to round to the nearest dollar do they mean to round it to the nearest dollar every step or just the end. I really find these word math questions really annoying even thought their supposed to be easy because they don't tell enough information for me to get their exact answer.

ALWAYS, Just at the end. Never the intermediate steps.

Just at the end.

For instance:  add these numbers together:  0.545, 0.545, 0.545, 0.545, 0.545:

Unrounded, you get 2.725.

If you round at the end (to the nearest hundredth), you'll get 2.73.

If you round at every step, you would have  0.55, 0.55, 0.55, 0.55, 0.55  for a total of 2.75, which is too large.

Sometimes, it will make no difference; but, to be save, only round the last answer.
