Hello hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. Can someone please help me with this?

I have to determine whether the equation is a linear equation in two variables.

6x -3y^2 =2.... my answer is yes

5y= x - 9....my answer is no.

Please help!!

I belive the first one wouldn't work since it would end up.

3y2=6x+ -2

here you'd have to divide by 3 and get the square root of it so I don't think that's right.

But the second one would end up.

5y=x-9

Here you have to divide by 5 and it would still be linear you would just be adding your slope.

I think this is right I'm not 100% sure.

Have a good sunday
