Let's see.

Let's start with the parentheses.

1-15=-14

The equation is now: 13-2(-14)/4

Now multiply -2 by -14

-2*-14=28

The equation is now 13+28/4

divide by 4

the equation is now 13+7

add

13+7=20

So the equation simplifies to 20.

Can you please tell me what order you did your operations in? I would love to know, thanks!

well @rarinstraw1195

first I disributed the -2(1-15)

then I got 13-2+30/4

next I divided 30/4

and I got 13-2+7.5

then I  added -2+7.5

and I got 5.5

and last I added 13+5.5

and my final answer was 18.5

All i'd say is remember to do PEMDAS

Parentheses

Exponents

Multiplication/Division

Addition/Subtraction

Also when you distributed the -2, you forgot that it is no longer used in the equation. Shown here --->

                                                                                                                                                                           ^

Another thing, the parentheses were 1-15, and when -2 is distributed, it should have been -2+30 which is 28.
