A line is drawn through the points $(-2, 6)$ and $(-4, -2)$. What is the $y$-coordinate of the point where this line intersects the $y$-axis?

Slope   = ( -2-6) / ( -4  - -2)  =  -8/ -2  =  4

Eq  of  line using  (-2 , 6)

y  = 4  ( x - - 2)  + 6

y  = 4 ( x + 2)  + 6

y  = 4x  + 8 + 6

y =  4x + 14

To  find  the y  int...let x  = 0

y = 4(0)  + 14

y  = 14    =  the y intercept
