It is me again!!
Let's isolate the y.
3x - 2y = 6
2y = 3x - 6
y = 3/2 x - 3
Solve for a and b:
Plug in the values into the slope-intercept equation as (a,3) and (-2,b) are ordered pairs:
3 = 3a/2 - 3
3a/2 = 6
3a = 12
a = 4
b = (3/2)(-2) - 3 = -6
Find the value of 2b + 5a:
2b + 5a = 2(-6) + 5(4) = 8
Sorry but I don't understand, its like a graph right? like x axis and y axis
Yes.
After turning 3x - 2y = 6 into y = 3/2 x - 3, it is easier to graph.
Because every point on a graph of a continuous function(just say function for your level...... continuous function is calculus thing) have a x-coordinate and a corresponding y-coordinate and the relationship between 2 of them is the function. Therefore we can calculate y coordinate and x coordinate just using y = 3/2 x - 3.
Do you read Chinese? because my homework is in Chinese and I have I hard time translating because I don't know the term for it....And I can take a picture ...Don't have to type so much...:)
Yeah.
Take a photo and post it on the forum :)
I can translate and help you do it :):)
