The number of stickers Kevin had was \( {1 \over 4}\) more than the number of stickers John had.
After Kevin gave 96 stickers to John, John had twice as many stickers as Kevin. How

many stickers did John have at the end?

Initially

k = 1.25 j

then

k -96  =  1/2 (j+ 96)        sub in the red equation

1.25j   - 96 = 1/2 (j + 96)

.75 j = 144

j = 192          then k = 240
