(x-1)/2+1=(x+1)/4
\(\frac{x-1}{2} +1= \frac{x+1}{4}\)
\(\frac{2x-2+4}{4}=\frac{x+1}{4} \)
\(2x+2=x+1\)
\(x=-1\)
\(Sample:\)
\(\frac{-1-1}{2} +1= \frac{-1+1}{4}\)
\(0=0\)
I would prefer multiply by 4 on each side......:
\(\dfrac{x-1}{2}+1=\dfrac{x+1}{4}\\ 2(x-1) + 4 = x+ 1\\ 2x - 2 + 4 = x + 1\\ 2x + 2 = x + 1\\ 2x - x = 1-2\\ x = -1\)
I got the same answer as asinus did!! That means hopefully we are both correct! :)
