You can use an equation to represent this and hopefully obtain your answer.

 

Let "a" be the toys he sold, "b" be the toys he made, and "c" be the profit.

 

Selling toys at $4 each, making them at $2 (meaning you'll subtract that from his profit).

 

Your equation will be 4(a) = (c) - 2(b)
