Samantha plans to use a small space on the lawn to plant flowers in the shape of an isosceles trapezoid, with a height of 5 feet and bases of 7 feet and 6 feet.

What is the area of the trapezoid that Samantha plans to make for planting flowers?

Area trapezoid =  [height/2] * [ sum of the bases]  .....so we have.....

[5/2] * [7 + 6]  =

(5/2]*[ 13]  =

65/2  sq ft = 32.5 sq ft
